It’s no secret that with winter comes less motivation to be active. Sometimes dragging yourself to the gym in cold weather just doesn’t sound appealing when the fire is going and the couch is ready to hug your behind! But, I’m sharing with you 5 no-excuse moves below that you can do in the comfort of your living room or backyard. The secret? Using household objects in place of typical gym equipment like dumbbells or medicine balls. In this workout, I use Kleenex Wet Wipes as my piece of “equipment” in every single move!
Not only will this be a total body burn, but it will only take you less than 3 minutes to complete one set! So, let’s get started! Grab your yoga mat and a pack of Kleenex Wet Wipes and follow along-
- POP SQUATS – 30 seconds
Holding your Kleenex Wet Wipes with both hands, jump into a squat and jump right back in starting position. Continue to do so repeatedly for time.
- JUMPING LUNGES w/CORE TWIST – 30 seconds
Holding your Kleenex Wet Wipes in both hands, stimulatingly lunge and twist 45 degrees across your chest. Jump into the next lunge and twist in the opposite direction.
- JUMPING PICK UPS & PRESS – 30 seconds
Start with your feet together, then jump outwards while bending at your hips and reaching down to pick up your Kleenex Wet Wipes. Once in hand, extend your arm pressing the Kleenex Wet Wipes above the head, then bringing it back to the ground for the next rep.
- RUSSIAN TWISTS – 30 seconds
Seated on your behind with your heels elevated off the ground, hold your Kleenex Wet Wipes in both hands twisting it from left to right. Mid twist press it high above your head before settling it to each side. Maintain your balance by keeping your core tight.
- SHOULDER-KNEE-TOE TOUCHES w/PUSH UPS
Start in plank position, holding your Kleenex Wet Wipes in one hand. While engaging your core, take the Kleenex Wet Wipes and touch your opposite shoulder with it, then your opposite knee and lastly your opposite toe. Return to plank position and push up to complete one set. Slide the Kleenex Wet Wipes to the other hand and repeat.
I’d recommend doing 2-3 sets of this routine, resting only after each 5 moves are complete. This routine will work your lower body, upper body and your core to round off a nice total body challenge.
